Legalese from my attorney about Pennsylvania being a “grey” state in regard to Dry Needling.
Pennsylvania’s Physical Therapy Practice Act does not deny or prevent the
practice in the Commonwealth. See Physical Therapy Practice Act, Act 110 of 1975. In
fact, House Bill 2070 was recently introduced to amend the Physical Therapy Practice
Act to explicitly include dry needling to avoid any ambiguity. Therefore, it is evident that
Pennsylvania law does not preclude a Physical Therapist from practicing dry needling
techniques.
